Consumer Reports recently examined six popular blocking and filtering software products as well as parental controls on a popular ISPs. They found the security generally failed to block one out of every five sites deemed objectionable. Unlike these products, new software are guaranteed to be more effective in blocking out dangerous, hateful, illegal or pornographic material or predatory activity.

Many of  these softwares aggregate content from the Internet and allows unlimited live access to sites and pages that meet the top standards for safety, education and entertainment. In addition, the software allows parents to customize the service by bringing in live sites and pages from outside the network that they see fit for their individual child. It features a comprehensive search engine, homework help sites and entertainment portals along with original interfaces and homerooms.

The software runs on all broadband providers and ISPs, including AOL. The default security for the home PC, its technology restricts access to other Internet browsers and the control panel (where most security systems can be disabled). The security can be turned off in seconds only by parents/adults with a password to access the Internet at large and customize the product for their children.
